TDR PRO Corrugated Polypropylene Pipe — Starlight Estates, Corpus Christi, TX

Polypropylene Pipe, Corpus Christi
TDR Pipe supplied TDR PRO® corrugated polypropylene pipe for the storm drainage system at Starlight Estates, a single-family residential subdivision on the fast-growing Southside of Corpus Christi, Texas. TDR provided 18-inch through 60-inch pipe totaling 5,560 linear feet, paired with phased, on-schedule deliveries that kept construction moving.
Project overview
Starlight Estates is a residential subdivision designed to meet rising housing demand in suburban Corpus Christi. With single-family homes built out in phases, the development depended on reliable infrastructure and timely material deliveries. From the start, TDR Pipe supported the project not only with the right drainage solution, but with well-coordinated, dependable pipe deliveries aligned to the project’s phased construction schedule.
Corrugated PP pipe offers a strong balance between structural capacity and hydraulic efficiency. Its smooth interior wall promotes high flow capacity, while the corrugated exterior provides excellent stiffness and load resistance—making it well-suited for large logistics and distribution facilities.
The challenge
The site presented two demands at once. First, flat terrain and clay soils required a storm drainage system that could perform efficiently at low slopes and under shallow cover conditions—where many materials struggle to maintain flow. Second, installation had to be sequenced around active street and utility work, which made on-time material delivery essential to avoid delays and jobsite congestion. The drainage system needed to combine hydraulic efficiency with structural reliability while fitting a tight, phased build schedule.
The TDR PRO® Solution
TDR PRO® corrugated polypropylene pipe was selected for its hydraulic efficiency and structural performance. The smooth interior surface supports efficient flow at low slopes, helping move runoff away from streets and lots without requiring excessive excavation. At the same time, the corrugated exterior provides the stiffness needed to support roadway loads while maintaining the flexibility that reduces the risk of cracking or joint failure over time. This balance of smooth-bore flow and a strong, flexible profile made TDR PRO® well suited to the flat, clay-soil conditions of the Corpus Christi Southside.
Why Corrugated Polypropylene Pipe for Residential Storm Drainage
In residential developments like Starlight Estates, drainage lines often run under streets and yards at shallow depths and low slopes, where ponding can quickly become a problem. Corrugated polypropylene pipe suits these conditions: its smooth interior keeps water moving even on minimal grades, while its high ring stiffness handles vehicle and roadway loads. Because it is lightweight, it is also faster and safer to handle on a busy jobsite, reducing equipment needs and speeding installation during phased construction.
Logistics and Delivery
Beyond the pipe itself, logistics were central to this project. TDR Pipe worked closely with the contractor to plan deliveries by phase, ensuring the correct pipe sizes and quantities arrived exactly when needed. This reduced onsite storage requirements, kept crews productive, and avoided the congestion that can stall a phased residential build.
Results and Feedback
Consistent, on-schedule deliveries allowed installation to proceed without interruption, supporting steady construction progress across phases. Contractors highlighted the ease of handling and the reliability of TDR Pipe’s logistics coordination. Together, the product performance and delivery reliability reinforced TDR PRO® pipe as a practical, efficient drainage solution for residential developments in the Corpus Christi market.
About TDR PRO® Corrugated Polypropylene Pipe
TDR PRO® is a dual-wall corrugated polypropylene (PP) pipe engineered for gravity-flow stormwater drainage. It combines a smooth interior liner for hydraulic efficiency with a reinforced, annular corrugated exterior and a co-extruded integrated bell for watertight joints. Available in 12-inch through 60-inch diameters, TDR PRO® meets ASTM F2881 Class I and AASHTO M330 Type S, with watertight joints tested per ASTM D3212.
