Frequently Asked Questions
What is TDR FORZAĀ® used for?
TDR FORZAĀ® is a high-performance HDPE pressure pipe (PE 4710) for potable water, oil and gas, mining, pressure irrigation, storm and sanitary sewage, and pipe bursting and rehabilitation. It is available in IPS sizes 4-inch through 48-inch.
What is HDPE pressure pipe used for?
HDPE pressure pipe is used for pressurized conveyance of water and other fluids in potable water, irrigation, mining, oil and gas, and force-main applications. TDR FORZAĀ® is a bimodal PE 4710 HDPE pressure pipe with leak-free heat-fused joints, available in 4-inch through 48-inch.
Why use HDPE pressure pipe?
HDPE pressure pipe is corrosion- and abrasion-resistant, has a smooth interior that resists scale, and uses leak-free heat-fused joints. TDR FORZAĀ® delivers these benefits and can be installed by open-cut or trenchless methods.
What sizes and pressure ratings does TDR FORZAĀ® come in?
TDR FORZAĀ® is available in IPS sizes from 4-inch through 48-inch, in dimension ratios from DR 7 to DR 41, with working pressures from 50 to 335 psi at 73.4 F depending on DR.
What standards and certifications does TDR FORZAĀ® meet?
It is manufactured to ASTM F714 and ASTM F2619, certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 for potable water, and listed under the PPI TR4 HSB program. It uses PE 4710 resin (cell class 445472C per ASTM D3350).
How are TDR FORZAĀ® pipes joined?
TDR FORZAĀ® uses leak-free heat-fused (butt fusion) joints, and can be installed by open-cut or trenchless methods.
What is the difference between HDPE pressure pipe and PVC pressure pipe?
HDPE pressure pipe uses leak-free heat-fused joints and is highly flexible and impact-resistant, while PVC pressure pipe uses gasketed or solvent-welded joints. TDR offers both: TDR FORZAĀ® (HDPE pressure pipe) and TDR PVCĀ® IPS Series (PVC pressure pipe).
