TDR ULTRA Corrugated HDPE Pipe TGS Drainage Project 7B, Baytown, TX

Industrial Yard Drainage Baytown
TDR Pipe supplied TDR ULTRA® corrugated HDPE pipe for industrial yard drainage in Baytown, Texas at the TGS Drainage Project 7B, an infrastructure-improvement project within an active industrial yard operated by Trans-Global Solutions Inc. TDR provided 18-inch through 60-inch dual-wall HDPE pipe totaling 5,800 linear feet to upgrade stormwater management across a high-traffic logistics and rail service area.
Project overview
The TGS Drainage Project 7B was developed as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements within an active industrial yard operated by Trans-Global Solutions Inc. The project focused on enhancing surface water management across a high-traffic logistics and rail service area. Given the nature of the facility—heavy equipment movement, railcar handling, and large impermeable surfaces—the drainage system required a robust, high-capacity solution capable of handling significant runoff volumes while maintaining operational continuity. Because the yard stays active, the upgrade had to perform without shutting operations down.
The Challenge: Upgrading a Working Yard
Retrofitting drainage into a live industrial yard brought several constraints together. Large impermeable surfaces generate high runoff, limited slope required efficient hydraulic design to keep water moving, and industrial load conditions imposed demanding burial and compaction requirements. The system had to move significant runoff volumes under flat grades while withstanding heavy equipment and railcar loads—all without interrupting the logistics and rail operations that continue across the yard every day.
Industrial Yard Drainage in Baytown — The TDR ULTRA® Solution
A dual-wall HDPE drainage system—TDR ULTRA® corrugated HDPE pipe—was selected for its structural performance, corrosion resistance, and long-term reliability under industrial conditions, offering an optimal balance between hydraulic efficiency and installation flexibility. Diameters from 18 to 60 inches let the network capture surface runoff and direct it toward designated discharge points, with proper slope and pipe sizing ensuring effective flow under peak conditions. The smooth interior maintained capacity on limited slopes, while the corrugated structure and watertight joints handled the burial and compaction demands of heavy industrial loads.
Drainage System Configuration & TxDOT Compliance
The system was designed as a network of interconnected stormwater lines capturing surface runoff and directing it toward designated discharge points, with slope and pipe sizing tuned for peak flows. Material selection and installation complied with applicable TxDOT drainage standards and roadway specifications. The lightweight HDPE pipe and flexible installation let crews upgrade the working yard efficiently while keeping operations moving.
Performance Results
The selected pipe solution improved drainage efficiency across the yard, reducing standing water and minimizing operational disruptions during rainfall events. For an active logistics and rail facility, that means fewer weather-related slowdowns, protected surfaces under heavy equipment, and long-term infrastructure value from a system built to last under demanding industrial conditions.
About TDR ULTRA® Corrugated HDPE Pipe
TDR ULTRA® is a dual-wall corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe engineered for gravity-flow stormwater drainage. It combines a smooth interior liner for hydraulic efficiency with a reinforced, annular corrugated exterior and a co-extruded integrated bell for watertight joints. Available in 4-inch through 60-inch diameters, TDR ULTRA® meets AASHTO M294 and ASTM F2306, with watertight joints tested per ASTM D3212—making it well suited to industrial, logistics, highway, and commercial drainage projects across Texas.
