TDR ULTRA Corrugated HDPE Pipe Rancho del Rey Logistics Park, El Paso, TX

HDPE Drainage Pipe El Paso
TDR Pipe supplied TDR ULTRA® HDPE drainage pipe in El Paso, Texas for the stormwater system at Rancho del Rey Logistics Park, a multi-building master-planned development near the Interstate 10 and Loop 375 junction. TDR provided 18-inch through 60-inch dual-wall HDPE pipe totaling 4,900 linear feet for Building 1’s first-phase drainage network.
Project overview
The Rancho del Rey Logistics Park is a cornerstone of El Paso’s expanding logistics and distribution sector. Building 1 is part of a multi-building master-planned park designed to accommodate a total of 4 million square feet of industrial space near the critical Interstate 10 and Loop 375 junction. Positioned at a key crossroads for regional and cross-border freight, the park depends on drainage that keeps truck courts and high-clearance slabs functional through El Paso’s intense desert storms.
The Challenge: Desert Peak-Intensity Storms
The hydrologic design had to account for the unique desert climate of El Paso, where storm systems produce peak-intensity events and rapid runoff. With nearly 5,000 linear feet of pipe required for the first phase alone, the system was configured to manage high-velocity flows from the park’s expansive roof and paving surfaces. The drainage network acts as the primary safeguard for the facility’s high-clearance slabs and the large-scale truck courts essential for modern logistics operations. Joint stability and structural strength were critical, since much of the network sits beneath high-load paving and rigid building sections.
HDPE Drainage Pipe in El Paso — The TDR ULTRA® Solution
High-performance corrugated HDPE solutions—TDR ULTRA® pipe—were used to support the complex drainage paths required for the expansive building footprint. Diameters from 18 to 60 inches let smaller lines capture localized runoff while large mains conveyed high-velocity flows toward discharge. The smooth interior handled the rapid, high-volume flows of desert peak storms, while the reinforced corrugated profile and watertight joints delivered the structural strength and joint stability required beneath high-load paving and rigid slabs. HDPE’s corrosion resistance and long service life made it a maintenance-free fit for infrastructure that would be disruptive to access later.
Installation and TxDOT Compliance
Material selection and installation complied with applicable TxDOT drainage standards and roadway specifications. Setting the flow lines early let the pipe runs reach final grades beneath the high-load paving and building slabs, limiting settlement risk under heavy loads. The lightweight HDPE pipe simplified handling across the expansive footprint and kept the phased installation aligned with the park’s construction schedule.
Performance and Long-Term Value
The resulting infrastructure provides a high-capacity, maintenance-free drainage solution that supports the long-term value of the Rancho del Rey development. By prioritizing a robust subsurface network, the project ensures future tenants have a reliable, flood-resilient site for their logistics and distribution operations—protecting truck courts, slabs, and continuous freight activity at a critical I-10 / Loop 375 location.
About TDR ULTRA® Corrugated HDPE Pipe
TDR ULTRA® is a dual-wall corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe engineered for gravity-flow stormwater drainage. It combines a smooth interior liner for hydraulic efficiency with a reinforced, annular corrugated exterior and a co-extruded integrated bell for watertight joints. Available in 4-inch through 60-inch diameters, TDR ULTRA® meets AASHTO M294 and ASTM F2306, with watertight joints tested per ASTM D3212—making it well suited to industrial, logistics, highway, and commercial drainage projects across Texas.
