TDR ULTRA Corrugated HDPE Pipe Amazon West Delivery Station, El Paso, TX

Distribution Center Drainage El Paso
TDR Pipe supplied TDR ULTRA® corrugated HDPE pipe for distribution center drainage in El Paso, Texas at the Amazon West Delivery Station, a $51.5 million last-mile logistics facility. TDR provided 18-inch through 48-inch dual-wall HDPE pipe totaling 7,660 linear feet—one of the most extensive subsurface drainage networks in the area.
Project overview
The Amazon West Delivery Station is a $51.5 million last-mile logistics facility in West El Paso. This 160,000-square-foot development, on a 44-acre parcel near Interstate 10 and the New Mexico border, is a key component of Amazon’s regional delivery network. The project required one of the most extensive subsurface utility networks in the area—over 7,000 feet of pipe—to manage the complex hydrologic demands of a high-capacity distribution center and its heavy-duty transit paving. At this scale, drainage is what keeps delivery vans moving in all weather.
The Challenge: Massive Impervious Surfaces
The facility is defined by massive impervious surface contributors—extensive van loading zones and large-scale parking areas for logistics vehicles. Given the high-intensity rainfall events characteristic of the West El Paso region, minimal elevation deviation was crucial to prevent drainage-related circulation conflicts. The drainage lines also had to navigate around the complex footings and utilities of the distribution center while maintaining the precise slopes needed for high-velocity conveyance—and perform beneath high-load transit areas where future maintenance would disrupt operations.
Distribution Center Drainage in El Paso — The TDR ULTRA® Solution
High-performance corrugated HDPE solutions—TDR ULTRA® pipe—were employed to support the vast network of drainage lines across the 44-acre site. The pipe’s flexibility let it route around footings and utilities while maintaining the slopes required for high-velocity flow, and diameters from 18 to 48 inches scaled from localized capture to combined conveyance. Durable, watertight joints and the structural resilience of the pipe were essential beneath high-load transit areas where long-term performance and minimal maintenance are operational requirements. HDPE’s corrosion resistance and long service life made it a maintenance-free fit for a facility that runs every day.
Installation and TxDOT Compliance
Material selection and installation complied with applicable TxDOT drainage standards and roadway specifications. TDR provided technical engineering support to route more than 7,000 feet of pipe through a congested subsurface environment, maintaining high-velocity slopes around footings and utilities. The lightweight HDPE pipe simplified handling across the large site and kept installation aligned with the facility’s fast-track delivery schedule.
Operational Outcome
The project demonstrates the implementation of large-scale industrial drainage infrastructure under high-load conditions—showing how technical engineering support and high-performance materials meet the demands of global logistics leaders. With reliable HDPE conveyance beneath the van yards and transit paving, the station is positioned for dependable, low-maintenance operation as one of Amazon’s key regional delivery hubs.
About TDR ULTRA® Corrugated HDPE Pipe
TDR ULTRA® is a dual-wall corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe engineered for gravity-flow stormwater drainage. It combines a smooth interior liner for hydraulic efficiency with a reinforced, annular corrugated exterior and a co-extruded integrated bell for watertight joints. Available in 4-inch through 60-inch diameters, TDR ULTRA® meets AASHTO M294 and ASTM F2306, with watertight joints tested per ASTM D3212—making it well suited to industrial, logistics, highway, and commercial drainage projects across Texas.
